GREEN OPAQUE OPALS & MINT GREEN CHALCEDONY

The bright mint green that splashes through these unusual GREEN OPALS, contrasts sharply with the varying shades of brown that form a mosaic throughout each stone. In the sunlight, you can see hints of an almost-iridescent golden brown. But don’t let the “Opal” name of this stone fool you! GREEN OPALS are called “Common Opals” – they are opaque and rarely translucent like the “Precious Opals” that have fiery play-of-color and rainbow hues. The natural colorations of this square-cut GREEN OPAL illustrate a wonder of nature - how stones of the same family always exhibit totally different mosaics.
